A wind of change in the Gulf
Our area has suffered an extremely adverse weather period and temperatures are just starting to go back high again.
A striking MEADOW PIPIT (Anthus pratensis) passage was noted and small flocks were at every single place in this morning's route e.g.: Messa-29 ind. and Polichnitos Pans-21!!
IN THE SEA:
1300+ Yelkouan Shearwaters (Puffinus yelkouan)
800 Great-crested Grebes (Podiceps cristatus) & 9 Black-necked Grebes (P. nigricolis)
200 Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax cabro)
5 Red-breasted mergansers (Mergus serrator)
3 Black-throated Loons (Gavia arctica)
Also Yellow-legged and Black-headed Gulls, 1 Curlew, 2 Common Sandpipers.
