A wind of change in the Gulf

Our area has suffered an extremely adverse weather period and temperatures are just starting to go back high again.

A striking MEADOW PIPIT (Anthus pratensis) passage was noted and small flocks were at every single place in this morning's route e.g.: Messa-29 ind. and Polichnitos Pans-21!!

IN THE SEA:

1300+ Yelkouan Shearwaters (Puffinus yelkouan)

800 Great-crested Grebes (Podiceps cristatus) & 9 Black-necked Grebes (P. nigricolis)

200 Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax cabro)

5 Red-breasted mergansers (Mergus serrator)

3 Black-throated Loons (Gavia arctica)

Also Yellow-legged and Black-headed Gulls, 1 Curlew, 2 Common Sandpipers.
