Celebrating the World Migratory Bird Day 2021

Events

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest and the Kalloni EIC to raise awareness about the Lesvos Geopark, invite you to participate in our event for the World Migratory Bird Day 2021.

The World Migratory Bird Day is being celebrated (since 2006) twice every year, on the second weeks of May and October, when the spring and autumn migration, respectively, take place for the European Continent. It is organized under the auspices of the two UN treaties: the "Convention of the migratory species" and the "Afro-Eurasian wetland bird agreement." Areas of the East Asia-Australian migration corridor contribute to the global celebration for the first time this year!

Our field trip will take place this Sunday, October 10, 2021, during the hours 8:30-13:00 (3 groups: 8:30-10:00, 10:00-11:30, or 11:30-13:00) at the Kalloni Salt Pans.

The participant groups will not exceed 10 persons, and pre-registration is required. Adults and children (aged 8 and up) can participate, and admission to the event is free.

All necessary Covid-19 prevention protocols will be followed.

For more information and registrations, please call +30-22510-47033 and +30-22530-28091.
